Karbala - The member of Karbala Provincial Council, Tariq al-Khaigani, of al-Ahrar bloc within the Sadr Trend described the visit of the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, to Karbala as "Interference in Karbala's internal affairs."
Speaking to All Iraq News Agency (AIN), he said "Maliki's visit to Karbala is an interference in its internal affairs," noting that "Al-Ahrar bloc denounces this interference."
"Maliki held a meeting with the winning blocs without the presence of al-Ahrar bloc where he forced them to accept the final formation of Karbala local government," he added, assuring that "In spite of having the post of the First Deputy Governor to al-Ahrar bloc, it will reject this government in case Karbala PC votes on it."
"There is a conflict between Maliki and the Minister of the Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ali al-Adeeb, over the Governor's post and I rule out keeping the same formation in the next days," he concluded.
