Amman - Senate President Abdul Raouf Rawabdeh will on Wednesday open the Jordan Industries Expo being organized by the Amman Chamber of Industry at the Amman International Motor Show with the support of the Jordan Export Development Corporation (JEDCO).
President of the Amman Chamber of Industry Ziyad Al Homsi said the four-day event provides an opportunity to promote national industries and underline their high quality products.
He said the Kingdom's industrial exports last year stood at JD4.80 billion, accounting for 90 percent of national exports.
Al Homsi added that the Chamber exports to 140 countries, noting that the industrial sector now employs 230,000 people.
Director General of the Chamber Nael Al Husami said that 112 companies are taking part in the expo, displaying their products through 152 pavilions.
