Tehran - Head of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mine and Agriculture Mohsen Jalalpour said on Monday that Iran and Algeria planned to augment trade to one billion dollars.

He made the remarks in Iran-Algeria Trade Forum in presence of Algerian Industry Minister Abdessalem Bouchouareb.

Jalalpour said that Algeria had always been as one of best friends of Iran in international arena and now it is regrettable that level of trade between the two countries in not at an acceptable level.

Jalalpour said in a meeting with Algerian Ambassador to Tehran Abdelmounaam Ahriz last September that the Joint Economic Commission formed three working groups, including engineering-technical services, medicine and medical equipment as well as oil, gas and petrochemical industry.

Jalalpour said that Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade and the private companies formed a construction consortium for construction of 100,000 residential units in Algeria.

He said that house appliances, construction materials, related industries to construction, agriculture, food products, handicrafts and tourism are on agenda of bilateral cooperation.
