Mark September 12 on your calendars: that's the date when the new iPhones will be launched.

Apple has sent out its invitation to its traditional September launch event, which will once again be held at the Steve Jobs Theater in its sprawling Apple Park campus.

The invite, received by Khaleej Times, was, as usual, minimal in detail.

"Gather round" was written on it, with a huge gold circle above it.

It has been reported that the tech giant will be launching three new iPhones: a 5.8-inch follow-up to last years iPhone X, an entry-level six-incher and a top-of-the-line 6.5-inch iteration

The names of the new devices are unclear; names from 'iPhone X Plus' to 'iPhone 11' and even 'iPhone 9' have been floated. There are also reports Apple might be considering an 'S' cycle this year.

Apple does not comment on rumours or speculation.
