Oil production from Forouzan Oilfield is expected to increase by 40,000 barrels per day (bpd) by August, the official in charge of the field's development, said.

Ebrahim Delavaran added that with the installation of two wellhead platforms, the production capacity of the joint oilfield will rise by 40,000 bpd, Shana reported.

The construction of a jacket for one of the platforms is 95-percent complete and will be installed by August in the offshore field.

Delavaran said wells are being drilled at platform F18 of the field, as another well is being spudded simultaneously at platform F19, which will be ready in the next Iranian year (starting March 2015).

The official said earlier that the development of Forouzan includes construction of LQA and FZA platforms, gas pressure booster station as well as subsea pipelines. A South Korean contractor is constructing the platforms.
