Amman - Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Nasser Judeh, on Sunday met with President of the United Nations Development Group (UNDG), Helen Clark, and discussed with her cooperation between Jordan and the United Nations, especially in light of the current conditions in the Middle East.
The two sides stressed the need for continued cooperation and coordination to provide services and help to the Syrian refugees in Jordan.
Judeh highlighted the heavy burden placed on Jordan due to hosting more than 475,000 Syrians on its territory and pressures they put on its economy and infrastructure.
He hailed the role played by the UN organizations and its arms to help the Syrians refugees in Jordan, hoping to see a political solution in Syria to spare the blood of the Syrian people and maintain their country's unity and cohesion.
Clark said she is aware of the major burden placed by the inflow of Syrian refugees to Jordan, expressing keenness to assist Jordan in this important human side.
