RIYADH- Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Climate Envoy Adel bin Ahmad Al-Jubeir received on Sunday Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi.
The meeting focused on the coordination of the GCC stances ahead of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which will be held in November 2023 at Expo City Dubai.
The conference will unite the world towards agreement on bold, practical and ambitious solutions to the most pressing global challenge.
As host, the UAE will mobilise action around a “major course correction” to accelerate emissions reductions while ensuring energy security.
Al-Jubeir and Albudaiwi also exchanged views on a variety of regional and international issues, according to a statement from the GCC Secretariat.
