As part of DHL Middle East's strategy for 2006, a new product portfolio, DHL Express Services, offering more choice and control, has been launched in five countries across the region on January 1, 2006. Following on from the global launch of DHL's Time and Day Definite products that took place in Bahrain during January 2005, DHL has launched the range of products for consumers in the Middle East in a two-phase approach.
DHL Express Services is now available in Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, and Yemen, to be followed on February 1 with launches in KSA, UAE, Lebanon, Bahrain, Syria and Iran. Speaking at the launch, Phil Couchman, DHL Middle East managing director, said: "The innovation of our range of products means that our customers will have more choice and ultimately more control of their shipment needs. We recognise that every business runs to different deadlines and has different needs; that is why our new product portfolio is based on a logical system of time definite and day definite choices.
In simple terms the choice of delivery time, and price, rests with our customers." DHL provided the new portfolio due to an increasing need of customers to have more choice of transit times; from a pre-9am or pre-noon delivery service and next day express, to second day delivery and express freight for heavyweight shipments.
