Dubai, July 3rd, 2006(WAM)--Dubai Financial Market (DFM), UAE's premium stock market has launched its annual summer training programmetargeted at UAE nationals studying in schools, colleges and universities.
The two-month training programme will end on 23rd August 2006 andis designed to provide a 360 degree view about the functioningof the stock market and its intermediaries, importance of gettingcompanies, bonds and other securities listed on DFM and the overallcontribution of DFM to the UAE economy. The programme will feature a judicious mix of practical and theoryclasses, work-modules on DFM's various departments and classesat the brokerage firms' premises. DFM will give stipend to allthe participants for the said training period. DFM believes in nurturing young 'National' talent and investsheavily in human resource training programmes. The Summer TrainingProgramme is an annual feature and is designed to shape students'career, enhance their understanding of stock markets and enlightenthem about developments in this field. It's a holistic approachinvolving DFM's various departments, market makers - the stockbrokers - and the visiting faculty who are experts in this field. Buthaina Al Saiqal, Training Officer, announced that this year'sprogramme is different from the previous years, in that DFM willintroduce new activities and offer special incentives for thetop students. She said: "Based on the successful results of theprevious programmes, this year DFM is putting extra efforts toenhance it further. The trainees will be divided into groupsthereby providing adequate attention to each student." Besides, an induction course will be conducted on the first dayof the programme, delivered by Mubarak Rashed Al Doosari, Headof Complaints and Investor Serivces Unit, DFM. A series of lecturesand computer courses will also be conducted, in addition to DFM'sIT department organizing a contest that will run for two weeksstarting from July 22, 2006. The first winner will receive avaluable prize.
