Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, yesterday inaugurated the production facilities of Arc International, a French tableware maker.
Arc International Middle East's three facilities in the region cater to more than two billion people across South Asia and the company will soon increase capacity.
Within the context of its global expansion strategy, Arc International Middle East purchased 80 per cent of RAK Glass in 2003.
It now owns two tanks to produce opal and sodalime clear glass. This will allow Arc International to expand in the area's growth markets and strengthen its position in the entry range markets globally.
Arc International Middle East employs more than 1,100 people and has retain-ed the RAK Glass brand.
Arc, a leader in tableware industry, had a turnover of 1.2 billion euros in 2004.
