Sharjah Airport Authority Outsources Facilities Management Services to Etisalat "FM"
Sharjah, 6th July 2009: The Sharjah Airport Authority today signed a five-year agreement to outsource Facilities management operations for Sharjah International Airport to Etisalat Facilities Management, a member of Etisalat Services Holding LLC. This agreement aims to raise the quality of Facilities Management Services being offered at Sharjah International Airport .
The contract was signed by Dr. Ghanem Al Hajri, Director General of the Sharjah Airport Authority and Mr. Ali Al Sharid, Chief Executive Officer at Etisalat Services Holding, during a signing ceremony that was attended by Mr. Mustafa Ahmed Al Ateek, General Manager of Etisalat Facilities Management, Mr. Abdul Wahab Al Roomi. Director General DCA. Sharjah Airport Authority, and senior executives from both parties.
Dr. Ghanem al Hajri, Director General of Sharjah Airport Authority said: "The signing of this agreement with Etisalat Facilities Management - a subsidiary of Etisalat , comes as a result of the efforts that Sharjah International Airport is undertaking to provide the best services possible to the passengers and the companies working within the airport. Our aim is to conduct our business in a way that sustains the facilities of the airport in an excellent condition and enables all users to continuously utilise these facilities effectively."
Dr. Ghanim confirmed that the selection of the service provider followed a thorough study and a Memorandum of Understanding which was signed earlier in the year. The selection was also based on the track record of Etisalat Facilities Management in this field, and its strength being a subsidiary of Etisalat a leading national company which has strong presence across the UAE and internationally. This agreement also falls within the overall strategy of the airport in the upcoming period.
Mr. Ali Al Sharid, Chief Executive Officer at Etisalat Services Holding said: "We are delighted to enter this partnership with Sharjah Airport Authority. This step follows the successful completion of an in-depth study into the requirements of the Airport which will help improve quality and efficiency. Today's affiliation sets a model for successful outsourcing; which gives companies the opportunity to focus on their core business and allows specialized facilities management service providers manage their non core activities which reflects positively on work efficiency and ultimately results in visible reductions in costs."
And he added: "This cooperation is one of the numerous initiatives that Etisalat Service Holding Is undertaking to develop cooperation with both the government and private sectors in the United Arab Emirates. Our aim is to assist these companies reach their strategic goals."
Etisalat Facilities Management will increase its staffing level to 100 staff after the completion of the defect liability period of the expansion of Sharjah International Airport in order to cover the newly added scope.
Etisalat Facilities Management will utilise state of the art technologies in managing its operations using the latest Facilities Management Software Maximo and Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) which provide essential tools for monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and staff productivity. The company also will utilise its extensive experience that it gathered through various projects with the public and private sectors.
Etisalat Facilities Management was established in the year 2007, after the merger of Etisalat 's specialized maintenance teams responsible for the operator's buildings, towers and other technical and commercial facilities across the UAE. Etisalat Facilities Management now provides integrated services for facility management including electrical, mechanic, civil and general management services. Etisalat Facilities Management maintained its broad experience through providing services to Etisalat . Etisalat Facilities Management is an ISO certified organization.
