Dunia offers students 20 new scholarships worth up to AED 400,000

UAE, Sunday 6th April 2015: In a continuation of its commitment to young people's education, in order to empower society and enhance productivity, Dunia Finance (dunia) has announced the launch of a new scholarship program - the Dunia Young Leaders Scholarship Program.

Doing good while doing business has long been dunia's philosophy. This belief, which is firmly engrained amongst the management team, has helped the UAE based financial services provider to post impressive and sustainable financial results year on year, while consistently giving back to the people and communities it serves. 

Education is a key pillar of dunia's approach to giving back. Two years ago it launched a pioneering Young Business Leaders Program for high school leavers and first year university students. The program, which is offered on a complimentary basis, combined academic learning with leadership and business skills, and exposed young students to finding the leader within. dunia also recently announced 12 scholarships for bright young talented individuals at India's leading university: the Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad (IIMA).

Last year, dunia introduced a world class career advancement program, Development Opportunity for Operations, Risk and Sales (DOORS), which focuses on nurturing leadership talent within dunia. In addition, the company continuously engages with several leading universities, whether for hiring its young leadership talent, as well as for developing its own staff through executive development programs.  

The launch of the company's new scholarship program is yet another step highlighting dunia's ongoing commitment to cultivating, empowering and nurturing young talent through education.

The Young Leaders Scholarship Program is open to 20 promising students, starting from pre-school to Grade 12, studying in the UAE, as well as university students enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD program and studying in the UAE or overseas. The scholarship amount offered is up to AED 20,000 each, covering the actual tuition fee for the academic year 2015-2016, with a total value of up to AED 400,000 across the 20 scholarships.
