Dubai, 24 August 2015 - The Middle East Investor Relations Society (MEIRS) has appointed Investis, an international digital communications and investor relations (IR) company, as its corporate website partner for 2015, as well as an Advisor member to the Society. The partnership aims to support listed companies in the region and encourage best practices in digital corporate and IR communications.

Digital communications is now a critical part of a listed company's strategy in communicating with investors and various stakeholders. When it comes to the IR website, this is now a first point of call for investors. The Middle East is becoming increasingly integrated into global emerging markets and for listed entities operating in the region a strong digital presence and strategy is an important tool in attracting attention from the international and regional investor community. The independent, not-for-profit society aims to enhance the reputation of the Middle East's capital markets through upholding international best practice across the investor relations profession. Incorporated in 2008, MEIRS aims to provide a platform for IR professionals and listed companies across the MENA region to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and network.

Commenting on the new partnership, Fanny Modin, Board Member, MEIRS and Investor Relations Officer at SHUAA Capital, said: "Part of MEIRS strategy is to build a community of and for IR professionals across the region. Partnerships with advisor members specialized in various fields of IR enhance our membership offering as we are able to provide access to industry experts and service providers via our community. Investis is a global digital IR company with a strong international track record and we are confident that they will add value to our membership base."

Helen James, CEO Investis, said: "The Middle East Investor Relations Society continues to do excellent work for the IR industry and we are thrilled to forge this international partnership with them. As global thought leaders with 6 international offices and 1900 clients across the world, this partnership is a natural step for Investis. We look forward to sharing our 15 years of experience with MEIRS members and the Middle Eastern market as a whole."

In its capacity as corporate website partner, Investis has developed the MEIRS official website, as well as the micro site for the upcoming Annual Investor Relations Conference, the exclusive annual event organized by the Society, which will take place on the 16th of September 2015. Furthermore, as advisory members to the society, Investis will work with MEIRS to provide its members with up-to-date industry best practice and trends, educational sessions and workshops, and provide advisory and solutions on everything digital from IR/corporate websites and IPO digital readiness, to social media, multimedia, Apps and webcasting.

About Investor Relations
The National Investor Relations Institute defines IR as "a strategic management responsibility that integrates finance, communication, marketing and regulatory rules, and compliance to enable the most effective two-way communication between a company and the financial community, which ultimately contributes to a company's securities achieving fair valuation". The increase in importance of IR roles has been attributed to continuing globalization of financial markets and the further complexity this adds to regulations and legalities. IR roles have been linked to having a significant effect on attracting investment and reducing a company's cost of capital.
