Abu Dhabi, 7th March 2015 - Hydrocarbon Information Exchange (HCIEx) in conjunction with the expert Technical Advisory Committee hosted EPC in Oil & Gas 2015 Technical Conference conducted at the Park Hyatt in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The event proved to be an important milestone for the regional and international oil & gas industry.

The technical event saw the convergence of the leading minds of this industry from different geographical regions, who addressed not only the key technical aspects of Engineering, Procurement and Construction in oil and gas but also energy security, HSE risk management, and sustainable procurement. The thought leaders also engaged the participants in group discussions on critical problems, to facilitate information exchange and knowledge sharing in order to gain a broader understanding of the challenges that threaten the sector.

Prof. Mufid Samarai, Executive Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Conference and Senior Advisor for Sharjah Research Academy, Government of Sharjah provided an in depth insight to the many challenges faced by oil and gas stakeholders who are involved in EPC projects and the tools and techniques they use to solve and overcome these challenges. He emphasized the importance of having a global platform for open discussions and collective solution finding to achieve the industry's common goals.

The technical event covered a range of topics and addressed issues resulting in cost overruns and time delays, discussed methods for operational & HSE risk management, and also how to drive operational & organizational excellence. An elite panel of experts joined the Speaker Panel of EPC 2015 to shed light on the important issues, this included D Mark Cowley, Petrofac; Ayman AL-Issa, Booz Allen Hamilton; Simon Axup, BST; Abdelhak Ladmia, Independent Senior Petroleum Engineer; Ozgur Onat, IC Holding TREYSAN Corporation; Mathew Joseph,Milestone Consulting International; Dr. Senthilkumar Venkatachalam, University of Sharjah; Dr. Cyril TNO Energy; Tommy Mars, Accenture. Apart from analysis and technical presentations, the interactive workshop also included two half-day master classes on EPC Mega-projects and technologies for procuring/delivering quality EPC projects.

The EPC in Oil & Gas 2015 technical conference involved a unique mix of participants from across the globe, the delegates attended included candidates from Europe, Africa, Asia- Pacific and the Middle East.
