Association of Queen Rania Al Abdullah Award for Excellence in Education
The Association of Queen Rania Al-Abdullah Award for Excellence in Education was launched on Teachers Day on October 5th, 2005, by a Royal initiative by their Majesties King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein and Queen Rania Al Abdullah. The Association of Queen Rania Al Abdullah Award for Excellence in Education is an independent Association registered with the Ministry of Social Development in Jordan and whose Board of Trustees is chaired by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah.

Queen Rania Al Abdullah Award for the Distinguished Teacher
Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah launched the "Queen Rania Al Abdullah Award for the Distinguished Teacher" -- the first award under the umbrella of the Association -- on March 2006 out of the deep belief in the importance of the role of teachers in the educational process and in establishing the principles of excellence and innovation. The award is based on objective, scientific criteria that were set after a thorough examination of similar international and regional awards. A group of Jordanian educational experts adapted the criteria in line with the needs of the educational environment in Jordan.

Queen Rania Al Abdullah Award for the Distinguished Principal
Launched in 2008 after three years of first-hand experience and receiving feedback on the award from teachers and principals. Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah launched the award to be the second award under the umbrella of the Association as a translation of the belief and trust in the significant role played by principals in the educational sector as they lead and inspire teachers to excel. Similar to the teachers' award, the winners are selected based on specific scientific and objective criteria that were established based on the Association's experience with various similar awards regionally and internationally and have been modified to meet the needs and requirement of the Jordanians educational environment.

Queen Rania Al Abdullah Award for the Distinguished School Councilor
The Association launched the Distinguished School Councilor Award in the governmental sector in March 2014 under the directives of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah. The move is in line with the Association's vision to expand horizontally and recognize the key role of school Councilors in supporting students to grow to become productive and intellectual citizens who are positively committed to their communities. A panel of Jordanian counselling experts developed the award's criteria after reviewing similar awards both regionally and internationally. The Association also held a number of brainstorming sessions with public and private school councilors to further ensure the development of the Award's criteria.
