Largest healthcare network in the Philippines partners with Kuwait's SAMA Medical Services, opens its first polyclinic in Dubai

Dubai, UAE, October 6, 2015:

The Medical City (TMC), the largest healthcare network in the Philippines, has partnered with Kuwait's SAMA Medical Services, to open its first polyclinic in Dubai with plans to expand its presence across the UAE and in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

The Medical City Network is composed of 5 hospitals and 38 satellite clinics across the Philippines, with international presence in the US territory of Guam and the Middle East and on-going projects in Southeast Asia.

TMC's world-class healthcare network serves over 50,000 in-patients and 1.5 million out-patients every year. It has more than 1,500 medical staff complemented by 5,000-strong medical support human resources.

TMC is accredited by the Joint Commission International, the most prestigious accrediting body for international healthcare organisations. This provides assurance that TMC's patient care and services are at par with the best in the world.

At the heart of TMC's unique brand of healthcare is an appreciation of each person's individuality--a product of a unique combination of history, lifestyle, and environment. No two people are alike; hence, no two have the same healthcare needs.  By bringing together and integrating technologies from all over the world, TMC is able to promote wellness, as well as diagnose and treat diseases, down to the individual's specific molecular profile.

TMC's platform in this regard is the world-leading Institute of Personalized Molecular Medicine (IPMM), the first fully accredited Human Stem Cell and Cell-based Therapy Program in the Philippines.  IPMM, established in 2005, is among the firsts to offer a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic services in molecular and cellular medicine, including stem cell therapies.

Not only can these personalized molecular therapies prevent diseases, it also revolutionizes the treatment of cancer and other diseases such as diabetes, metabolic disorders, neurological diseases (Parkinson's, dystonia, Alzheimer's, spinal cord and nerve injuries), and diseases of the heart, among others.

Mr. Jose Xavier B. Gonzales, CEO of The Medical City for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Treasurer of the Board of Directors, said: "This region has a fast-growing need for medical services and we at The Medical City looks forward to making available our world-class patient care right here in the GCC, starting with Dubai."

TMC is showcasing its services, as gold sponsor, at the International Medical Travel Exhibition & Conference (IMTEC) on October 7-8, 2015, in Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
