HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has received in his office HE Ibrahim Bu Melha, Dubai Ruler's Advisor for Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs, and Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award. Al Tayer handed Bu Melha a cheque of AED 400,000 for DEWA's sponsorship of the 19th Dubai International Holy Quran Award. The meeting was attended by Saleh Al Mazroui, General Manager of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charity and Humanitarian Establishment, and Waleed Salman, Executive Vice President for Strategy and Business Development, and Ahmed Abdullah, Senior Manager of External Communications at DEWA.

"We are proud to sponsor the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, which His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai established and is held under his patronage. The Award plays an important role in encouraging younger generations to memorise the Holy Qur'an, and in highlighting the Islamic aspect of Dubai. It promotes the teachings of the Holy Qur'an, encouraging the youth to study it. The Award invests in the available opportunities and social environment of Dubai and the UAE to achieve its objectives in promoting a spirit of collective efforts and volunteering," said Al Tayer.

"Our sponsorship of this international event is part of our social responsibility and our continuous efforts to support social, cultural, and Islamic initiatives that strengthen Dubai's position as a global cultural and humanitarian destination," added Al Tayer.

Al Tayer emphasised DEWA's support and contribution to the Award each year, noting that DEWA's management and staff attend its activities. This makes the Dubai International Holy Quran Award an important event for DEWA.
