Dubai- UAE: The British University in Dubai (BUiD), the first postgraduate university in the region, has decided to restructure its Finance Programme to keep up to date with the latest developments and best practices in the field of Finance. It has received the CAA accreditation from The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to restructure the programme with new concentrations added. BUiD's Finance programme offers graduate-level best-practice courses, taught by faculty members with solid research expertise and international teaching experience.

Dr Elango Rengasamy, Head of the Finance Programme at BUiD, said: "The programme aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to enter management-track positions in banks, financial services companies, central banks and regulatory bodies. The finance program has four concentrations and a general route as well. Students can choose any one of the concentrations based on their career ambitions and promotional prospects."

Prospective students now have the option to take the Master in Finance through the Dissertation route or Project route. In addition to the MSc in Finance, BUiD offers a Postgraduate Diploma as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Islamic Finance.

For The Masters and postgraduate Diploma, Students can study Finance with concentrations in Banking, Capital Markets, Financial Risk Management, Islamic Finance or General Finance. The new structure concentrations and awards meet the changing needs and priorities of Dubai's and the region's professionals in government, banks, financial institution and the finance offices and departments of all enterprises from SME to MNC.

The programme aims to prepare high calibre individuals with a broad understanding, technical knowledge and personal skills necessary to operate effectively in senior positions at different organizations. They also gain the much-needed experience to participate in the various segments of the capital markets. The programme mixes broad core modules with electives designed to allow students to specialise in one or more key areas of finance. All the students in MSc Programme are required to demonstrate their learning by writing a dissertation based on research on a contemporary issue that is of relevance to financial markets, preferably, in the UAE/GCC context or they can choose the Project Track.
