The civic body is linked with a network of 53 Typing Centers and the number is on the up

Abu Dhabi City Municipality - 23 June 2015: The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has processed 6145 transactions pertaining to attestation of tenancy contracts through the e-form since the launch of this service this year. The figure indicates the feasibility of the service and the public reception it received as it helps cut short the time needed to process the attestation transaction and at the same time saving the time of customers and employees alike.

The step underlines the endeavours of the Municipal System of Abu Dhabi to simplify procedures, and improve the services rendered to customers in keeping with the development plan advocated by the Government of Abu Dhabi aimed at improving the performance of government offices and delivering modern services that measure up to the expectations of community members.

Under this context, the Municipality has so far trained and qualified 63 Typing Centers to run this service in order to make the services accessible to customers, offering them a variety of options, besides broadening the scope of service to reach out to various communities.

The Municipality has made a remarkable achievement in the attestation of tenancy contracts as the number of registered tenancy contracts has so far clocked 124,953 contracts; which is a positive indicator of the sizable services provided by customer service centers, the streamlined procedures, and the partnership & cooperative relationships with typing offices the number of which is expected to rise shortly to cover the widest possible geographical and demographic areas.

The Municipality advised its valued customers intending to register Tawtheeq transactions starting with the completion of the e-form before reporting to customer service centers in order to avoid any delay in processing their daily transactions in a quick & smooth environment. The Municipality is quite keen on saving customers' time and delivering the services to them in a hassle-free environment. It also indicated that last April it launched a service enabling the completion of initial procedures needed for the attestation of tenancy contracts online through its portal (www.adm.gov.ae).

Customers can process their transactions related to the completion of details and attaching the documents required for the registration of tenancy contracts through using the free and approved e-link at the website of the Abu Dhabi City Municipality, or avail the services on offer at Typing Offices. The customer will accordingly obtain a Reference Number through which the transaction is submitted. The customer can then visit any customers service center to obtain a copy of the registered contract after paying due fees, and the whole process will be completed within 7 minutes per transaction; which saves time & effort besides easing the pressure on customers service centers affiliated to the Abu Dhabi City Municipality.

The Municipality is seeking to facilitate the attestation process, especially as regards supporting documents: passport, family book, and residence. Currently tenants are required to present ID only. The visa will be required in case a spouse is on the visa of the other spouse in order to establish an evidence of kinship as regards residential contracts for a single family occupying the rented unit, and accordingly avoid mixing of different families and individuals as per the applicable rules & legislations. In case such an evidence is not established, the marriage contract will be required; which will be sufficient for the purpose. The Water and Electricity Bill is required in order to verify the code of the meter in respect of each rented unit; which is vital for implementing the e-link between the Municipality and Abu Dhabi Distribution Company, to match the rented property with the meter. The service will be activated online once the contract is registered without requiring the customer to report to Abu Dhabi Distribution Company. The Municipality, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Distribution Company, will ease the accessibility of the services of this Company online such that the tenant will visit the Municipality only to obtain such services following the registration of the tenancy contract in Tawtheeq Electronic system. The procedures has been put in place out of the Municipality's keenness to deliver best-in-class services to customers to meet the objectives of the strategic partnerships of the project, which will pave the way for the completion of the e-link with other relevant entities before the end of this year and accordingly deliver excellent services at high-class standards.

The Municipality called on customers to utilize the external municipal centers in order to processes their tenancy contract attestation transactions in a quick and responsive environment without obliging them to visit the Head Office of the Municipality only for the sake of endorsing the application or paying the fees. Centers have been fitted with service requirements that meet customers' expectations in saving time and effort, and broaden the geographical scope of the service; which in turn will enhance the public facilities available to community members.
