Dubai: The United Arab Emirates does not cherish a self-centered project as it is well aware that it plays a stronger and more significant role within an Arab team led by Saudi Arabia and Egypt, Dr Anwar Gargash, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, said.

“The UAE sees the Arabian Gulf as a major source of support for the plans to ensure the stability of Arab countries,” he posted on his Twitter account.

The tweet sharply contrasts the UAE vision with that of other countries bent on selfish, self-serving projects that they are promoting under various descriptions and guises.

“It is important to read carefully the direction of the UAE policy so that conclusions are drawn fairly. The UAE has a deep belief in the priority of stability and the need for transparency and Arab collective action,” he posted.

“The approach by the UAE strengthens the sincerity of our discourse and the genuineness of our intention. Our public discourse is the same as our private talks. There is no discrepancy. Our credibility has been accumulated through events and tribulations that we did not concoct or imagine, but that we have lived.”

The path taken by the UAE is clear and its major objective is the security and stability of the Arab world following years of violence, he added.

The UAE is genuinely keen on a partnership with the Arab brothers and the only way to succeed is through joint efforts and nothing else, Gargash said.

“Our approach has deepened our awareness of changes in the international order, interference in the affairs of the Arab world and the violence that has weakened the Arabs. Our conviction is that our salvation lies in collective action,” the minister said.

“We are part of a broad Arab world and our joint work is a force. Our stability is closely linked to its stability and our prosperity to its own prosperity. We do not live in an imaginary bubble and facts are the basis of our conviction and directions.”
