Tehran - Managing Director of Taban Airline said a new air service between Tehran and Astrakhan in Russia has been launched to facilitate the travel of Iranian and Russian businessmen between the two cities.

Asghar Abdullah Pour told IRNA on Tuesday that the mentioned flight leaves Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport for Astrakhan in Russia every Saturdays at 13:30 hours local time ( 9:00 GMT).

He reiterated that Taban Airline uses Airbus airliners for its new service. 

Simultaneous with the opening of the air service, a conference will be held by Trade Promotion Organization of Iran and Astrakhan Chamber of Commerce and Industry to develop trade ties of the two cities. 

Astrakhan is a city in southern Russia and the administrative center of Astrakhan Oblast. The city lies on two banks of the Volga River, close to where it discharges into the Caspian Sea at an altitude of 28 meters (92 ft) above sea level.
