Dubai: “Zayed Humanitarian Work Day is one of the most significant milestones in the UAE’s annual agenda. Abdulrahman bin Mohamed Al Owais, the Minister of Health and Prevention in commemoration of Zayed Humanitarian Day, adding that Sheikh Zayed’s qualitative initiatives have contributed to providing relief to the people in areas of conflicts and disasters, as well as supporting helpless people and those in need.

The day also reflects the cohesion of the UAE citizens with their wise leadership to pay tribute to the country’s founder and to remember his spirit of philanthropy, as well as to express loyalty for Sheikh Zayed’s unique journey of giving and generosity.

Al Owais added that the scope of Sheikh Zayed charity projects has widened to include the entire world, regardless of religion or origin or ethnicity or belief.

“We, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the Country, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Their Highness the Rulers of other Emirates, pursue the march of charity work to reach everywhere all over the world in order to consolidate the UAE’s position as one of world’s top humanitarian aid donors, thus reaping respect and appreciation of nations in all international forums,” Al Owais noted.

He further said: “The UAE’s founder and builder of its modern renaissance, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may Allah rest his soul), was keen that the UAE should be the country of charity, love, and tolerance. Consequently, the UAE has become a global model in the humanitarian, charity and developmental work.”

“The UAE is well-determined to instill Zayed’s humanitarian work spirit in the next generations. His influential role in the humanitarian work and giving, peaceful coexistence, as well as consolidating feeling of love and peace among the people around the world will remain alive,” he added.
