Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - 24 April 2014

Tharawat Holding Company, Saudi Arabia based company renowned as a pioneering corporation in diverse investments is acquiring a majority stake (approximately 54%) in Quantum Investment Bank Limited (" Quantum "), a Dubai International Financial Centre based Islamic investment bank.

HRH Prince Turki Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, the new Chairman of the Board of Quantum, honored the signing ceremony with his presence along with other Board Members at the headquarters of Tharawat Holding Company in Riyadh.

This strategic acquisition is expected to be mutually beneficial to the participating companies. While Tharawat Holding will be able to enhance its geographical remit by moving to international markets through Quantum's platform, Quantum will be able to leverage off Tharawat Holding's strategic position in the Kingdom and in the region.

The shareholding agreement was signed in Riyadh by Mr. Ammer Selham, CEO of Tharawat Holding and Dr. Idriss Ghodbane, CEO & Board member of Quantum.

"We have been studying the bank for quite a long time and after deep analysis of the bank's potential and unique opportunities, we have decided to become a majority shareholder in order to support our investment and expansion plans" commented Mr. Ammer Selham, CEO of Tharawat.
