Total French investments in the Egyptian market reached EUR 4 million in nearly 150 projects, trade and industry minister said on Wednesday.

France is one of Egypt’s top trade partners in the European Union (EU), Amr Nassar added in a statement.

This came on the sidelines of a meeting between Nassar and the head of the Egyptian-French Business Council Fouad Younes.

The Egyptian government is aiming to restore the country’s position in the field of textiles and ready-made clothing by developing their designs and way of manufacturing, the minister indicated.

He highlighted the importance of enhancing the designs and fashion system that will allow Egypt take part in the world’s fashion weeks held each year in the global capitals and major cities.

For his part, Fouad Younes said that the Egyptian-French Business Council focuses on attracting further French investments in various sectors, as well as boosting Egyptian exports to France.
