• Committed to supporting aspiring tech leaders from across the globe, Snoonu has collaborated with Kazakhstan’s top coding school Alem to bring young programmers on board.

Doha-based e-commerce startup, Snoonu, is pleased to announce the kick-off of its partnership with Alem School, part of Astana Hub located in the country’s capital Nur-Sultan.

The partnership between Snoonu’s subsidiary in Kazakhstan, Snoonu Technology, and the innovative coding school, will provide Alem’s fresh graduates the opportunity to kick-start their career with Snoonu in Kazakhstan. This collaboration is in line with the company’s commitment to supporting tech talents in markets where it operates. The partnership will also see Snoonu enhance its position in Kazakhstan, hiring employees who will support the company in coordination with public authorities and monitor Kazakhstan’s government regulations.

Through this mutually beneficial collaboration, Snoonu will also be contributing to supporting the tech ecosystem in Kazakhstan by offering exciting opportunities for fresh graduates, aspiring to break into the competitive tech industry.

“Kazakhstan is home to highly educated and ambitious IT professionals in the tech industry, boasting a diverse tech ecosystem, making it a very attractive destination for startups from abroad,” said Hamad Al-Hajri, Snoonu CEO.

“We are excited to collaborate with Alem school and host their graduates who will be instrumental in developing our subsidiary in Kazakhstan,” he added.

Snoonu inaugurated its first representative office in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, on March 2021 , as the first Arab company bringing its business to the center of the country’s tech industry Astana Hub. Snoonu now continues to expand its presence in the country through their Center for Innovation and Technological Development. In cooperation with Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, the center aims to deepen the cooperation between Kazakhstan and Qatar in the field of innovative technologies.

Alem is an innovative coding school where lectures, teachers, and grades don’t exist. The educational process is based on students’ collaboration, solving real problems and implementing team projects on coding, software development and broader IT. By testing each others, students find a new perspective on problem solving and engage in a healthy competition. This modern learning curriculum is what makes Alem School’ graduates the perfect fit for Snoonu, as a startup that nurtures innovation.

Astana Hub is the largest international technology park for IT startups in Central Asia, creating the perfect environment for development of Kazakhstani and foreign technology companies, with a global mission to become a center for innovative projects, breakthrough IT companies, and a hotbed for attracting young and talented IT specialists from all over the world.

Snoonu is Qatar's home-grown success story that aims to be the first local Unicorn company. With over 150,000 users, Snoonu plans to expand and diversify its offering by adding new features and services to its platform, with a goal to enter international markets, including the Middle East and CIS.

After securing a $5 Million of investments during the Series A Funding round in April 2021, Snoonu plans to continue its growth and launch the Series B round in December 2021, with the goal to launch its IPO by 2024 and to further diversify its offer with payments and supply chain digitization solutions, transport, and global takeaway services.
