Bahrain's Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning has received 12 bid submissions for the Request for Proposals (RFP) tender issued for the two-year operation and maintenance (O&M) contract for North Sitra Sewage Treatment Plant according to information posted on the Bahrain tender board website.

Aqua Technology Transfer submitted the lowest bid at 397,583 Bahraini Dinars ($10.5 million), while Trans Global Contracting submitted the highest bid at 855,906 dinars ($22.7 million), the tender board's post said.

The bid from Zohal Construction Company was suspended, according to the post.

Meanwhile, Gulf Daily News reported on Sunday that work has commenced on a sewage drainage network between Sitra and Umm Al Hussam.
