Dubai World Chairman Honours Top Fire Brigade Officers
DUBAI - Sultan Ahmad Bin Sulayem, Chairman, Dubai World, has said that provision of comprehensive, high quality services was essential for creating a suitable investment environment and attracting capital.
He was speaking at a ceremony held recently to honor the commander and deputy commander of the Fire Brigade of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety), a unit of Dubai World.
Mr Bin Sulayem said: "Incentives like flexible laws, a tax-free haven and modern e-facilities are not enough in today's global economic perspective. It is equally essential to provide comprehensive, world-class services in order to create a suitable investment climate and attract foreign capital to Dubai.
"Ensuring the safety and security of our properties is a top priority for Dubai World. We have adopted a unique model to provide value-added preventive measures at all our companies and projects with a view to enhancing the environment at work places and well-being at homes."
The Dubai World Chairman, who bestowed special honours on Nutan Kumar, Commander of the Fire Brigade, and Deputy Commander Khalifa Mohammed Al Shibani, also commended the EHS Fire Department's work.
Mr Bin Sulayem said: "The Fire Department is an integral part of our goal to provide top quality services. We are keen to upgrade the services of the Department, which plays an important role in saving lives and protecting the properties of the companies operating in the free zone and ports."
The function was attended by Ahmad Abdul Hussain, CEO of EHS, and Engineer Saad Al Awadi, Operation Executive Director of EHS.
Mr Abdul Hussain said: "We are committed to developing the performance of Environment Health and Safety in general and its Fire Department in particular. The direct support extended by the Chairman of Dubai World has a definite positive effect on the excellence of our performance."
