Creative works of 15 top Emirati artists being showcased at the exhibition which runs till September 20

September 16, 2009 - His Highness Engineer Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of RAK Civil Aviation and Vice Chairman of RAK Airways, yesterday (Tuesday, September 15, 2009) inaugurated an Islamic Art Exhibition at Al Hamra Mall, located within the Al Hamra Village in Ras Al Khaimah. The five-day exhibition is showcasing the works of 15 prominent Emirati artists including Abdul Rahim Salim; Salma Al Marri; Nasser Abu Afra; Ahmed Al Ansari; Mohammed Abdullah Abu Lehia; Hussain Sharif; Obeid Srour; Najat Makki; Nasser Nasrallah; Mohammed Al Kassab; Hussain Sharif; and Laila Jumaa Rashid; Mona Al Khaja and Aisha Najm Al Manae.  

Speaking on the occasion, H.H. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi said: "The exhibition will contribute in promoting cultural and intellectual activities in Ras Al Khaimah and enable more people to appreciate various forms of Islamic art such as sculpture, calligraphy, architecture and painting. We hope that such events will get more support to ensure that Ras Al Khaimah's rich cultural legacy is preserved." 

The Islamic Art Exhibition is part of an array of exciting activities being organized by Interlocation Middle East Exhibition Organizers on behalf of Al Hamra Mall during the holy month, to help people enjoy the true essence of Ramadan. The attractions at the mall include exciting promotions, special discounts and a range of Ramadan-themed activities targeted at families, in addition to society-oriented activities that aim to encourage people to make a contribution to the UAE Red Crescent.
