New Middle East Area Business Director and Saudi Arabia General Manager To Oversee Ambitious Step-Change

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Building Information Modeling (BIM) software pioneer Tekla today announced the appointment of a new management duo, as it aims to take its Middle East operations to the next level.

Paul Wallett takes on the role of Area Business Director, having recently enjoyed a successful two-year stint as the company's business manager, and Anwar Al-Qwasmi has been recruited as the General Manager for Saudi Arabia.

It is hoped that the new appointments will build on Tekla Middle East's double digit growth over the past three years.

In the Middle East, the company is expecting to increase its staff and reach higher growth than many other regions to better serve the area's booming construction sector, which according to industry experts, is estimated to be worth USD 4.3 trillion by 2020

Key to this progressive strategy is the growing influence among local contractors of Tekla's BIM solutions, which can revolutionize both project management and profit margins.

"At a time of sustained growth across the region's construction industry, we are here to help our customers and partners realize maximum profit from their projects. I firmly believe that Tekla's BIM software is the way forward for the construction industry," said Paul Wallett.

"The expansion of the construction sector in KSA is fuelling the demand for technology. In such a  dynamic market, companies demand the right tools and market expertise to facilitate growth. Tekla is ideally positioned to provide this," added Anwar Al-Qwasmi.

Paul Wallett and Anwar Al-Qwasmi's priorities are to drive the company's expansion across the region, strengthen an already thriving economy and ensure that Tekla's BIM software continues to help construction companies deliver profitable projects on time.

Paul Wallett brings 25 years of in-depth international and regional experience to his new post. For the past 17 years he has worked in the software industry in markets, as diverse as the UK, Far East, USA and the Middle East, delivering training, consultancy and top-level management. He has been particularly successful in encouraging the adoption of BIM solutions.

Anwar Al-Qwasmi  is a veteran of the Saudi market, having spent 16 years working for many of the Kingdom's leading companies, including managing projects for Saudi Aramco and SABIC.

"Paul  and Anwar bring expertise and valuable industry insight to a strong Tekla team that already has a robust market presence. I know they will further contribute to ensure continued success for Tekla in this important market," said Risto Räty, Executive Vice President, Deputy CEO of Tekla and GM of Trimble Buildings Structures Division.

Tekla, a Trimble company, produces BIM software creating a modeling environment  that contractors, structural engineers and fabricators of all materials can share. Tekla customers use it to create and combine data-rich 3D models of even the largest, most complex structures in real-time. Tekla BIM helps them  to lower costs, improve communication and reduce waste, factors which impact on a project and its overall success.
