AMMAN — The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) reported a "notable" expansion in export activity during 2025, with the total value of certificates of origin issued for shipments to Arab and international markets rising by 4.8 per cent year-on-year, underscoring strengthening trade performance and positive momentum in the national economy.
According to official statistical data released by the ACC and obtained by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the value of exports facilitated through Amman’s trade sector reached JD1.431 billion in 2025, compared with JD1.365 billion in 2024.
The increase reflects improved external demand, greater market diversification and sustained commercial activity across key sectors.
The volume of trade transactions also expanded, as the number of certificates of origin issued by the ACC grew by 6.9 per cent to 40,945 certificates in 2025, up from 38,302 certificates in the previous year, indicating higher export throughput and broader participation by exporters.
In terms of destination markets, Iraq remained Jordan’s largest export partner by value, accounting for around JD629 million and 3,545 certificates of origin.
Switzerland ranked second with exports valued at about JD134 million, despite a limited number of certificates, highlighting the high unit value of shipments.
Saudi Arabia followed with exports worth JD104 million across 10,021 certificates, while Egypt recorded exports of nearly JD96 million through 999 certificates.
The United Arab Emirates ranked fifth, with exports valued at JD84 million and 4,259 certificates. Collectively, these markets represented the largest "share" of Jordan’s export value during the year.
While Foreign-origin goods re-exported through Jordan constituted the largest "component" of trade, with a value of JD687 million.
Industrial exports totalled JD254 million, reflecting the contribution of the manufacturing sector to trade growth, while agricultural exports reached around JD185 million.
Exports of Arab-origin goods amounted to nearly JD125 million, with the remainder attributed to other product categories.
The ACC stressed that certificates of origin play a critical role in international trade by verifying the country of production or processing of goods, enabling customs authorities to apply appropriate tariff treatment and ensure compliance with trade regulations.
The chamber continues to issue certificates for Jordanian agricultural, animal, industrial and raw natural resource products, as well as for foreign goods re-exported or sourced locally under regulated conditions, in accordance with applicable trade legislation and regulatory frameworks, Petra reported.
