MUSCAT -- The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) yesterday celebrated the Sultan's Armed Forces Day, which falls on December 11, and the Veterans Day, December 7. The ceremony marking the celebrations was presided over by Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohammed al Salmi, Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs. It was attended by Air Vice Marshal Yahya bin Rasheed al Jumaa, Commander of the RAFO.

The event took place at Seeb Airbase. Upon the arrival of the chief guest at the celebration grounds, the parade performed a military show. The RAFO band played a variety of tunes. The chief guest and other guests watched a spectacular free fall show, with the parachutists landing in the celebration ground while fighter aircraft passed overhead. The ceremony was attended by Mohammed bin Nasser al Rasbi, Defence Ministry Under-Secretary, under-secretaries, commanders of military formations and senior officers of the RAFO, the Royal Oman Police and other security units.
