DOHA: Qatar National Hotels (QNH) has invested QR40m towards a major renovation of the Sheraton Doha Hotel.
The hotel has been given a face-lift to 102 of its guestrooms and suites, on the 6th, 7th and 8th floors.
United Constructions carried out the renovation work.
The new rooms have been furnished with specially selected furniture, paintings and carpeting, and have been fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology to help make the guest's experience comfortable.
The suites are unique in design, decorated with fine fabrics, specially designed furnishings, and original artworks, creating a homey atmosphere.
The hotel also increased the number of non-smoking units to 180 - 176 rooms and four suites - and has made arrangements for guests with physical disabilities, providing them with three rooms, close to the elevator, designed without split-levels and specially designed large bathrooms for their convenience.
High speed Internet service is also available throughout the whole property, including 371 guest rooms and suites, all 30 meeting and banqueting facilities, the entire hotel lobby, the health & recreation centre, the beach and swimming pool area.
"We are proud to unveil the end of our renovations, where we provide our business travelers and leisure guests with the highest standard of services and amenities that meet with today's modern and international requirements," stated General Manager of the Sheraton Doha, Gerhard Foltin.
"We are very pleased with the extensive renovations that have taken place during the past three months, reinforcing our commitment to providing our guests with the best in a distinctly indulgent and comforting atmosphere," he added.
The renovations included the introduction of a new business centre in addition to the launch of the first "Link@Sheraton" in the Middle East. Link@sheraton is a space in the lobby area where guests can work, relax, stay connected with free wireless Internet, TV and PC and games.
The opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting of the renovated rooms and suites was held during the annual Starwood meeting held for the first time in Qatar.
