DOHA (Zawya Dow Jones)--Qatar Airways said Monday it will resume flights to Tripoli beginning Feb. 2, after the airline had suspended services to the Libyan capital last year due to political unrest.

Initially, the relaunched route will be served three times a week, "with plans to increase capacity at a later date," the Gulf carrier said.

Qatar Airways already flies to the northeastern Mediterranean port city of Benghazi four times a week.
