Dubai: The Philippine Consulate-General in Dubai has migrated its website to a new domain to make its services more accessible and give users a more enhanced experience.
The new website will be fully operational by June as soon as the data migration is finalised, Vice Consul Geronimo Suliguin said.
“The move is part of the Philippine government’s plan to integrate all government websites that host services,” Suliguin told Gulf News. “We’re hoping to enhance accountability by linking our site with other government sites and offer a more organised interface compared with our old website.”
All public advisories can be easily accessed on the right-hand side of the website, while the Passport Appointment Portal is on the bottom left-hand corner.
Important announcements such as new passport releases and passport disposals, among others, are featured at the centre of the website.
“One of our enhancements is the layout. We followed the natural eye orientation but will still continue to tweak it to enhance user experience,” Suliguin said.
Just like the old website, the new one has portions that have been translated into Arabic to cater to its Arabic-speaking clients. It also bears the Philippine Transparency Seal, which symbolises the policy shift toward openness in access to government information.
