DUBAI, 16 Nov, 05 (WAM) - Those willing to take part in theLocal Holy Quran Competition, but have not yet registered withthe Holy Quran recitation centres can apply for the same betweenNovember 19 and 29.
Ibrahim Bu Melha, Chairman of the Dubai International Holy QuranAward (Dihqa), which is the Organiser of the Dubai Local HolyQuran Competition, said that in order to nominate representativesfor the competition, the centres and institutions are supposedto hold competitions to choose the best memorisers from December5 to 15. After that, branch competitions on each emirate's levelwill be conducted in January next, according to a report in KhaleejTimes.
Branch local competitions are scheduled to be organised on January19 for the winners of Abu Dhabi centres, from January 21 to 23for the winners of Dubai Centres, on January 24 for the winnersof Ajman and Umm Al Quwain centres, and January 26 for Al Ain.
A delegation from the Dubai Local Holy Quran Competition willjoin the branch committee, which will arbitrate the local branchcompetitions for male and female competitors. The Dubai LocalHoly Quran Competition is held under four branches: Completememorisation of the Holy Quran. The top winner will receive Dh30,000,the second Dh25,000, and the third Dh20,000.
Memorisation of 20 chapters of the Holy Quran. The top winnerwill receive Dh20,000, the second Dh15,000, and the third Dh10,000.
Memorisation of 10 chapters of the Holy Quran. The top winnerwill receive Dh10,000, the second Dh7,500, and the third Dh5,000.
Memorisation of five chapters of the Holy Quran. The top winnerwill receive Dh5,000, the second Dh4,000, and the third Dh3,000.
According to Bu Melha, the last section of the competition islimited to UAE nationals only, aiming at encouraging youngstersto start memorising the Holy Quran. Also, all the contestantswill receive encouragement awards.
In a bid to encourage centres, and in recognition of their effortsto produce quality memorisers, centres with top ranking nomineeswill be awarded, he said.
Also, the best Holy Quran Institution at the country level willreceive a financial prize, said, Bu Melha, adding that choosingthe best institution will be based on certain accurate criteria.
Those wishing to take part in the competition can enquire aboutthe participation rules with any centre in the relevant emirate.
