ABU DHABI, Aug. 1st, 2010: The Public Administration Directorate at the General Secretariat of the Executive Council (GSEC) recently announced that the Oracle Performance Management Planning (PMP) module will be rolled out in Abu Dhabi Government civil service entities. The announcement came during a workshop held in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi General Services Company "Musanada". Oracle PMP is one of three advanced modules being rolled out in 2010 to provide advanced Human Resource Management System (HRMS) functionality. The Public Administration Directorate has successfully completed just over half of the project to deploy this advanced functionality, which also includes Self Service and Business Intelligence modules.
The two-day workshop, which was attended by Human Resources managers and officers from civil service entities in Abu Dhabi, was aimed at providing participants with the latest information on the annual employee performance management process and to introduce the software tool. Ameena Al Qubaisi, Project Manager at the Public Administration Directorate, said that the process of employee performance management is a major initiative that addresses the issue of assessing and evaluating the performance of employees in government entities. Through this an annual process, employees define their objectives in collaboration with their managers and in alignment with the organizational strategy. Employee Performance Management thus links employee performance with organizational strategy and also supports a performance-driven culture and consequently employee development. "With initial rollout scheduled for October 2010, the Oracle Performance Management Planning provides a holistic view of performance to enable job placement and development. Around 6,000 employees in Abu Dhabis civil service entities will benefit from this deployment," Al Qubaisi said. Firas Sleiman, Program Manager at Musanada, added that managing human capital is a major element of Abu Dhabis Vision 2030, and Musanada partnering with the General Secretariat will offer employees maximum benefit of all the self-service and planning services for performance management from one single electronic platform. The Oracle PMP system acts as a tool that consolidates different processes within government entities and enhances employee performance. Human Resources managers and officers will receive necessary training on the system throughout August and September, which will allow for knowledge transfer of required skills during the final quarter of 2010.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2010.
