KUWAIT, Dec 13 (KUNA) -- The upcoming 11th Asian handball clubs tournament, to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in February will surely be a success, affirmed an official at the Asian Handball Federation (AHF) on Saturday.
AHF Treasurer Bader Thiyab told KUNA that the participation of 17 teams, a record high number, reflected the developing high-standard of the tournament, affirming that Saudi officials would do their best to make the event a success.
He revealed that AHF contacted each respective handball federation in the continent to inform the AHF about their registered players in the 2008-09 seasons for them to participate in the tournament.
The deadline for sending the required information would be on December 31, Thiyab said.
The tournament is to be held in Jeddah February 12-24 and will witness the participation of 17 teams from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Qatar, Lebanon, Iraq, Bahrain, the UAE, Oman, and Syria.
