Tehran – Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia and the Pacific Affairs Ibrahim Rahimpour on Tuesday held talks with Turkmen Deputy Foreign Minister Vafa Hajiyev on ways to develop economic cooperation in various sectors.

In the meeting, the two sides studied grounds to further broaden and deepen cooperation on transport, land roads, railway and transit of goods through the sea, gas and electricity swap, consular affairs, border issues, regulating customs formality, ease of visa issuance, and reciprocal support for nationals of one another including the inmates as well as expansion of banking ties. 

They also called for implementation of agreement reached by the Iranian and Turkmen presidents and the recent visit of Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi to Ashgabat. 

They also reviewed other issues on regional and international developments, calling for restoration of stability and security of the region.

They advised the neighboring states to develop good neighborly ties to help restore peace and security in the region.
