Dubai: Abdullah Omran Hospital and Shaam Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah will be operational soon, Abdul Rahman Mohammad Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, told the Federal National Council yesterday.
Al Owais assured the members of the House all UAE hospitals will be accredited in keeping with internationally recognised standards by 2021.
The Ras Al Khaimah hospital was donated by Rashid Abdullah Omran, a UAE businessman, to include 82 beds with men, women and children wards in addition to five operation theatres. The hospital also includes six rooms for VIP patients and outpatient clinics in different specialisations and an emergency department.
The minister was answering questions by Salem Ali Al Shehi, a member of Ras Al Khaimah. He lauded the efforts of the private sector in enhancing the role of the health-care field and reassuring the societal partnership that would achieve the goals and objectives of the federal government and progress of the medical sector.
He noted that the ministry thanks all the noble UAE nationals who make great efforts to support such health projects and their role in serving their country.
The hospital has been built at a total cost of Dh50 million. It is situated on 500,000 square feet between Al Muwailha and Al Digdaga areas in Ras Al Khaimah.
The hospital consists of three storeys with a total construction area of 150,000 square metres. The ground floor consists of emergency rooms, intensive care units, X-ray room and outpatient clinics and physiotherapy department. The first floor includes operation theatres, intensive care units, gynaecology and obstetrics clinic, urology, medical lab and sterilisation unit.
