CAIRO, 4th June, 2017 (WAM) -- Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, has emphasised the importance of the historical ties between Sudan and his country, stressing the need to continue strengthening these relations and develop them, during his meeting with the Sudanese Foreign Minister, Ibrahim Ghandour, who is currently visiting Cairo.

Egyptian Presidency Official Spokesman, Ambassador Alaa Youssef, said that during the meeting, the two parties discussed means of enhancing relations between them at all levels, and agreed on the importance of continuing work to overcome any obstacles.

The Sudanese Minister affirmed his country's keenness to develop relations with Egypt in all fields and to continue coordination and consultation between the two sides on various issues. He also reviewed the results of the joint political consultations committee held in Khartoum last April, expressing his aspirations for further work to strengthen consultation between the two countries in order to overcome any obstacles that may disturb relations.
