Beirut, Lebanon – Hilton Beirut Habtoor Grand and Hilton Beirut Metropolitan Palace announced the appointment of Malek Fakhro as the Cluster Director of Business Development with effect from March 1st, 2017. In his new role, Fakhro will develop and lead the commercial strategy of the group in Lebanon, overseeing the sales and marketing activities in view of maximizing its performance.  

Welcoming this appointment, Mr. Naif Zureikat, Cluster General Manager of Hilton Hotels in Beirut said, “We are extremely excited to have Malek join our team. He has extensive experience and proven successful track records in the hospitality industry which will further fuel our development pipeline and strengthen our presence in Lebanon”.

Malek Fakhro brings to Hilton Hotels in Beirut over 17 years of experience, out of which 15 years were spent in the GCC with international hotel chains such as Marriott, Starwood and Millennium. During this period, he played strategic roles in launching 3 hotels in Qatar, Kuwait and KSA.

Taking charge of the commercial department, Malek will oversee sales, marketing, banqueting, revenue and reservations. Among his key responsibilities is to reinforce the positioning of Hilton Beirut Habtoor Grand and Hilton Beirut Metropolitan Palace as luxury business hotels with the favored venues for conferences and social events in Lebanon.

Previously, Malek Fakhro served as Complex Director of Sales at Marriott International for Aloft Riyadh and Dhahran. He also held various sales, marketing and business strategy roles at Millennium Hotel and Convention Center Kuwait, Al Jahra Copthorne Hotel & Resort, Riyadh Marriott, Renaissance Doha City Center and JW Marriott Kuwait.

Malek Fakhro, a Lebanese national, holds a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management & Tourism from Notre Dame University Louize.
