UAE - ASKWHO, a Dubai-based social app, has secured an additional $1 million in a funding round to enhance its offering and expand its business to the US market.

A total of $515,000 of this round was raised in an oversubscribed crowdfunding campaign that attracted 57 new investors, according to a press release.

The platform helps people make new friends and organise get-togethers through a community-focused social app.

Moreover, users can discover the cities that their friends live in through groups, topics, events, and a social news page deployed within the app.

Mike Askew, Co-Founder and CEO of ASKWHO, said: “2022 was very much about getting product market fit which we have successfully achieved through consistent progress in our metrics, [software as a service] (SaaS) revenue and working very closely with our customers.”

Askew continued: “This investment is a massive boost for our plans to expand to a new market, which will improve our growth and business model even further.”
