- Al Maryah Island’s promenade set to entertain visitors with distinct performances and activities from December 12th – 26th
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: The annual Winter Wonderland on Al Maryah Island is returning and welcoming guests to the promenade once again. From 12 to 26 December, the Promenade is set to transform into a winter village, with snow covered cottages and festive decorations. Abu Dhabi’s business and lifestyle destination along with The Galleria Al Maryah Island will offer guests a one-of-a-kind experience during the winter season.
Visitors can begin their journey by enjoying outdoor family fun on the sliding slope park, a snow zone and a wax ice rink, all against a backdrop of extravagant festive decoration. The youngest visitors will also get to tour the island’s spectacular views on an exciting train ride.
After all the outdoor fun, visitors can be spoiled for choice with the wide selection of festive food and beverage offerings by the different food stalls and trucks. Lining the promenade will be a large number of workshops including festive bath bomb making, slime making, gingerbread house making and fun-fair games such as Spin the Wheel, Ice Rush and Snowball Blizzard for visitors with competitive side and seeking a challenge.
A full schedule of live performances throughout the week will keep the whole family entertained including professional dance troupes and spectacular group singing performances. This year, the show line-up includes Winters Ball, Jingle Bell Rock, Royal March, Tinsel Town and A Winters Dream. Moreover, roaming artists such as Gingerbread men, Bubble Performers, and the Jack Frost Juggler will offer exciting experiences and photo opportunities for visitors. Guests and visitors will also be able to capture their most memorable moments at the photobooth located in the enchanted forest, offering custom filters.
As part of Winter Wonderland, The Galleria will be bringing back their highly popular Santa’s Grotto where children can Meet & Greet with Santa, take home a keepsake photo plus also admire the stunning 12m festive tree. The Galleria will also feature a Candyland activation, gingerbread-themed area where kids can create their own festive-themed arts & crafts. For an adventurous experience, families can explore the Narnia-themed Maze - inspired by the best-selling novel, The Chronicles of Narnia - where children can navigate their way through a snow-capped forest, uncovering hidden treasures along the way.
The event runs every day from 16:00 – 22:00, starting 12 December and ending on 26 December, 2019.
