Slim and sophisticated beauty in LG's new LCD TV
A sophisticated home is created when fashion meets function, with a perfect harmony of stylish design and smart technology. But too often, premium technology can mean sacrificing the graceful elegance of a home's décor.
Therefore, LG's main goal was to incorporate advanced technology and still maintain a glamorous appearance, bringing a beautiful sense of style and sophistication to every product made at LG.
From these efforts came the LG60, the very first Scarlet TV launched in 2008. LG applied a brilliant scarlet red to the back side of the TV, never before considered as a design element. Its circular, glowing power icon smiling on the centre of the lower bezel and the sleek, slim body of the Scarlet made it an intelligent fashion icon. In addition, LG launched a marketing campaign that succeeded in breathing life into this LCD TV as a chic, classy woman, visible anytime anywhere.
In 2009, LG is stretching further in TV design with the global launch of a full HD LCD TV, the New Scarlet. What they wanted to achieve with the New Scarlet was true sophistication and ultimate slimness, complementing its exceptional colour and shape. Resembling a sophisticated woman in an elegant dress, with just the right make-up and glittering accessories, the New Scarlet redefines the idea of the intelligent style icon.
Thus the idea of a New Scarlet face hunt emerged. This new marketing idea to find the perfect mix of intelligence, beauty and style, just like the New Scarlet, comes as an opportunity for one of the participating ladies to become the representative for the New Scarlet LCD TV. This campaign takes place over a two month period and will be a very exciting journey for participants where they will prove their beauty as well as their intelligence. Registration is online at ae.lge.com and only until May 24th after which will the real thrills begin.
The New Scarlet LCD TV boasts in addition to thinner components, measuring only 7mm thick, the relocation of the tuner, speaker and analog components to the bottom of the TV, further slimming her silhouette. Her older sister set a record in realizing slim design at 44.7 mm, but the New Scarlet beats her own record at only 39.7 mm, proving LG's leadership in the slim TV market.
"With advanced image technology and built-in digital tuner, the New Scarlet offers exceptional picture quality and a wealth of entertainment in a single, slender package, adding a touch of class and style to any home," said H.S. Paik, President of LG Electronics Gulf FZE. "The New Scarlet unfolds another dimension of TV to viewers, providing ambience and style. The more time you spend with the new full HD LCD, the more you will be taken in by its allure."
A subtle hint of scarlet colour added to its aluminium frame adds a distinguished accent. Using a half-transparent, half-reflective material for the New Scarlet's base of the bezel creates the illusion of another surface, as if the LCD is suspended, floating in air.
Unlike the breathing LED on her older sister, the circular icon at the centre of her lower bezel has a glowing LED light. It also has a touch sensor and plays a pleasant melody at every touch. As the TV powers on, the glowing light turns from a deep red to a shimmering white, like a glittering piece of jewellery paired with an elegant gown. Another novel feature is that of Bluetooth. Now you can easily enjoy the pictures taken from your cell phone on new Scarlet LCD TV. LG TVs with Bluetooth function allow greater compatibility with cell phones, headsets, notebooks & your PC.
Intelligence is another important ingredient for elegant design, and the New Scarlet is no exception. With powerful technology hidden inside, she remains slender without compromising picture quality. This New Scarlet offers an incredibly sharp 1080p full HD picture, which can be maximized to suit any type of media. In addition, she cuts energy bills by up to 75 per cent, proving her leadership in saving the environment.
