Dubai - du's Executive Vice President of Network Development and Operations, SaleemAlBlooshi, addressed the role of LTE and WiFi in Dubai's Smart City Initiative, where he highlighted Dubai's history of leading global thinking and the Emirate's future goal and vision of deriving happiness through smart people, economy, living, mobility, governance and the environment.
As the Smart City's official WiFi provider, Al Balooshi further showcased du's Smart Network, which will enable the Smart City through the company's rich mobile and fixed broadband portfolio, in addition to its rapid LTE - LTE Advanced and WiFi evolution and roadmaps.
"As an Emirati company, it is an honor to support the vision of the leadership of Dubai, and providing seamless connectivity for our customers is the first step to ensuring the rapid realisation of the Dubai Smart City vision. As the operator partner of the TRA FEDNet, we are able to provide the UAE with a common digital infrastructure. In addition, du's data centre capabilities across the UAE as well as its own carrier-neutral transit and content hub, which enables it to provide hosting and colocation services, reaffirms the company's readiness to address extensive Smart City initiative requirements," said AlBlooshi.
