Bahra Cables Co, a subsidiary of Construction Products Holding Company (CPC), opens new plant for manufacturing of PVC conduits and fittings for electrical use with an annual production capacity of 18,000 tons of PVC conduits, fittings and couplings of different diameters.

The new factory named 'BC Conduit'

Noting that the company has already set up a factory for the production of poly vinyl chloride (PVC), which is a plastic substance used in packaging and insulation of cables, electrical wires, as well as in manufacturing of conduits in order to meet the company's PVC consumption, where the annual production capacity of this plant is 36 thousand tons.

The new 'BC Conduit' plant was built inside the campus of Bahra Cables factory located in the industrial complex of Construction Products Holding Company (CPC) in Bahra near Jeddah. The new plant occupies an area of 10,000 square meters out of the total area of Bahra Cables amounting 300,000 square meters.

On this occasion, Engineer Talal Idriss, CEO of Bahra Cables Co. For Cable Manufacturing,  explained that the company decided to build  a new plant within the framework of  its plan of  expansion to meet the needs of the market and neighboring markets, taking advantage of  its poly vinyl chloride (PVC) production plant, where they get the raw material from SABIC.

He further noted that most of the new PVC conduits and fittings plant  equipment  are German-made, and the production will be in accordance with the latest international standards and  technology to meet the high specifications required for  projects. The plant already received (ISO 9001-2008) certificate, and adopted highest American and British manufacturing standards, as well as Saudi standards and specifications in order meet the highest specification required by major projects.

 CEO of 'Bahra Cables' pointed out that cable and its  accessories  industry in Saudi Arabia is currently developing and expanding to meet the growing demand for implementation of projects located throughout the Kingdom, also to meet the needs of the construction sector in general. He added that the national companies are capable to meet about 90 percent of the Kingdom's needs for these materials, which is produced in accordance with highest local and international standards, in addition to export part of its production to neighboring markets.
