Iran's automobile manufacturing industry will attain self-sufficiency in the production of galvanized sheet during the current Iranian year (started March 21) with the implementation of the development projects of Isfahan's Mobarakeh Steel Company, said manager of the company.

Mohammad Masoud Samieinejad also told IRNA on Saturday, "We seek to cut our reliance on foreigners in terms of steel products in the current Iranian year which has been named Year of Political Epic, Economic Epic by the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei."

Samieinejad noted that the company will undertake new development projects that will make the auto industry free from importing galvanized sheets.

"Plans have been made for upgrading production quality at Mobarakeh Steel Company," he said.

Stating that the company implemented development projects worth 7 trillion rials last year, Samieinejad said development projects worth 10 trillion rials would be implemented this year to create 1,000 jobs.

"In addition, development projects costing 30 trillion rials will be implemented by the end of the Fifth Five-Year Economic Development Plan (2015)," he said.

Mobarakeh Steel Company is located 65 km southwest of Isfahan near the city of Mobarakeh, Isfahan province. It is Iran's largest steelmaker and one of the largest industrial complexes operating in Iran. It became operational in 1993.
