MUSCAT -- A programme designed to empower the national workforce with strategic leadership qualities and skills among mid-level managers and their subordinates will be held on May 11, 12 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Dubbed the 'Strategic Development of Future Leaders', the programme is the first of its kind to be organised for the targeted category of employees in the society with an objective of developing their leadership character and qualities within self. The programme is also aimed at enhancing the leadership skills of leaders to international standards of work and to develop new leaders in the context of talent management as well as to nurture, empower and impart the significance and importance of teamwork from an individual's and organisational perspective.
Organised by the Studies and Research Centre (SRC) of the Oman Establishment for Press, Publication and Advertising (OEPPA), this forthcoming programme is within the roles of the Centre to educate and reach out in the society through the activities of the centre and the role of the media to spread awareness. The programme is also within the implementation process of one of the recommendations of the Work Ethics Conference to Improve Performance and Productivity among the respective category of the workforce in the Omani society. Held under the theme Inspire to Create More Leaders -- this amazing and custom-made programme is specifically designed by a highly professional speaker to inspire, empower and to hearten a strong teamwork for high performance and organisational growth and transformation.
On agenda of this inspiring program include discussions on promotion of positive mental attitude, staying highly motivated, applied faith, self-discipline and self-confidence, focus and creative visioning, profiting from failures, the golden rule of win-win and the concept of an extra mile of service. Discussions will also focus on problem solving, prioritising the best use of time, defining major purpose, why nurture and raise leaders and the trio how's on identifying and attracting potential leaders, creating a roadmap to nurture and develop a 'dream team' as well as to create sustainable growth through leadership development.
Also highlighted in this mind-setting program, which will be conducted in the English language and transmitted in the Arabic language includes the significant characteristics of developing leaders, which among other values of developing a leader mandates the serving and future leaders to be thoughtful about one's accomplishments on the resume. A committed leader or prospective leader is also mandated to adopt the concept of 'devoting the time and attention needed to successfully achieve an ambition and to take into consideration the concept of practising to make it perfect'. The programme will be conducted by Professor Shaikh Omar Abdul Rahman, Principal Consultant, Soar Consulting's in collaboration with the SRC of the OEPPA.
