AMMAN - The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) and USAID's Jordan Economic Development Program (SABEQ) Monday celebrated the on-time completion of the project to re-implement CBJ's Oracle e-Business Suite (EBS). Attending the project closure meeting at the CBJ were the Bank's deputy governors Mr Muhammad Saeed Shaheen and Mrs Kholoud Al-Saqqaf, officials from USAID, and other staff.

CBJ approached SABEQ for support on a variety of activities and applications that would enhance CBJ's performance including the re-implementation of the Oracle e-Business Suite. Although the EBS modules were adopted by CBJ as early as 2001, application configuration settings were not fully leveraged to provide effective business support for CBJ operations.

The primary objective of this two-phased project was to assist the CBJ preserve and maximize its return on the Oracle e-Business suite investment. The project addressed technology factors such as application functionality and technical infrastructure, as well as non-technology factors including underlying business processes, organizational factors and staff training and change management.

Furthermore, the project identified potential business process areas where the application technology and capabilities of the software suite may not have been fully utilized in the past and made recommendations for the future.
