MUSCAT -- Al Hassan Group of Companies, Oman's leading business group with diversified activities in contracting, manufacturing and trading, has launched the second phase of its Management Training Programme (MTP) for young Omani graduates with the induction of 20 engineering graduates, The launch event was held at Crowne Plaza last week under the auspices of Hamed Khamis al Amri, Under-Secretary for Technological Education and Vocational Training at the Ministry of Manpower. The programme was launched in the presence of senior management of Al Hassan Group including Hassan bin Ali Salman, Chairman, Maqbool Ali Salman, Managing Director, Peter Hall, CEO- AHEC, and General Managers of various SBUs and Support Services.
This is Al Hassan Group's second MTP batch after the successful completion of the first batch in which 17 Omanis were absorbed after a rigorous three-month training programme from a batch of 25 inducted in January 2010.
All of the Al Hassan Group Companies including Al Hassan Engineering Co (AHEC), Al Hassan Electricals Co LLC, Al Hassan Switchgear Manufacturing Co LLC will participate in the MTP.
Commenting on the launch of the second batch of MTP, Hassan bin Ali Salman, Chairman, Al Hassan Group, said: "The aim of the MTP is to recruit and retain the best and brightest young Omani talent.
The Al Hassan MTP has been created to develop the leaders of tomorrow and to teach aspiring youngsters the fundamental principles of working in the industry. He added that the objective of the Al Hassan MTP was not to fill any quota but to build a leadership pipeline for tomorrow."
Salman added: "The initiative provides a unique opportunity for Omani graduates who aspire to build a long-term career in Projects, Procurement, Quality, HSE and operations to join Al Hassan on a structured development programme. We are committed to developing our pool of Omani talent."
Fresh Omani graduates having good communication skills, a winning attitude and good analytical
capabilities are eligible for the training programme. The Al Hassan MTP will not only offer Omani graduate recruits comprehensive training but would also encourage open minds, original thinking, diversity and ambition -- the key attributes to future leaders.
The programme is conceptualised and designed on the basis of the Coaching and mentoring model. The Heads of Departments are coaches to the trainees and mentors are the immediate managers. The Buddy Coaches are the Senior Omani Engineers who ensure their learning and well being.
